Journal Production
Alden Press is one of the leading printers of academic journals in the UK, with a proud tradition of journal production dating back to the 1950s. This depth of experience enables the Alden Press to provide publishers with a quality of service that is hard to beat, from origination through to despatch of individual bound copies.
Service
Throughout the production of a journal, communication between publisher and printer is crucial to the success of every printed issue. Our dedicated customer service team consists of account managers with a wealth of experience in print production and service.
Every journal client has their own account manager, whose responsibility is to process each journal issue, identify and resolve any problems, and ensure the issue is despatched on time. A tailor-made service can be developed to suit each individual customer’s needs, including:
* Pre-flight checking of data
* The latest in digital proofing
* Cost-effective and speedy resourcing of paper and board
* Daily progress reports
* Data archiving, for fast reprints
* … and much more.
Quality
At all times throughout the manufacturing process, strict quality control procedures are observed by our experienced press minders and print finishers, ensuring the standard of product is not just high, but also consistent across journal volumes or book editions.
To maintain this quality of product, the Alden Press invests only in the latest and best print manufacturing equipment (see Plant List), which, when combined with the electronic workflow linked to the group’s MIS system, means that turnaround times continue to delight our customers.
Book Production
Alden Press have been printing books in Osney Mead for 170 years. Our location in Witney has given us a unique insight into the needs of academics and we have rightly built a reputation for high-quality academic printing over the years. This reputation is underpinned by the same high level of service and commitment to quality that is offered to our journal customers.
